A very generic house creeper story but with the fun surprising twist of being fully committed to showing how it all plays out from the perspective of a family dog. Does it work? YES IT DOES! Who would of thought that a dog could be such a talented actor?!
We've all at least once in our lives caught our pets staring directly at nothing for a little too long to be considered normal, Good Boy triumphs in using that unnerving phenomenon to it's fullest capability - from sensing the danger right at the beginning to seeing the actual entity that haunts the premise - alongside captivating low-angle camerawork and terrifying imagery making for a truly enhanced horror movie experience.
Throughout the whole movie Indy's (The dog) performance was so good and natural it reached a point where you would begin to ask your self "How did they get him to do that?" - and even though he's just a dog he somehow manages to capture the essence of a real person that you quickly end up falling in love with show.
Other then the pretty lacklustre acting performances from the human actors and the movie's extremely slow pacing, all is forgiven due to the undeniable truth that you are watching this with the only intention to route for the dog and the dog alone - you can't help but be impressed as we follow Indy (directly from his POV) on this scary adventure that progressively worsens as time goes on where all we can do is just sit and watch and hope he makes it.
