Defying the popular narrative of a queer relationship between a cis and a trans individual having a clear ‘good’ and ‘bad’ ‘guy’ when navigating the complexities of one partner transitioning, I’m So Sorry Baby reminds us that the world isn’t binary, and neither are world views. Raw, emotional and bittersweet, the film presents both sides with the appropriate respect and understanding they deserve, showing that the human experience is inherently complex, and that what matters is trying to meet each other halfway.

Beginning on a camp tone that smoothly transitions into the serious mood required to address its topic, Lyndon Henley Hanrahan’s Bisexual Crisis!!! tackles perceptions of identity and labels within the queer community itself, exploring how a bisexual woman and a gay man navigate their feelings for each other when they begin to fall out of their predetermined boxes. A vital conversation around labels, and the importance of realising when they begin to be a burden more than a comfort.
