OBSCURAE’s heading to TriBeCA! We’re out to take a bite out of the best films, shorts, the documentaries and the music videos that Manhattan has to offer. Tribeca is a festival space that's as connected to emerging indie voices as it is in established talent. It brings artists of all sorts together to champion challenging and immersive stories. I'm so excited to rave on the greatest hits I've seen, and the projects I'm most looking forward to.

Tickets and digital passes to TriBeCa Festival are available now. Get them while you can!

Here’s a sneak sampling of what it's got in store:

(All of these films still have tickets available—for New York residents or anyone on the digital side of the screen! Get yours now!)

🏆The Hit List

Fiore Di Latte

Looking for something freaky? A little wild? Wrapped in a mad perfume? Charlotte Ercoli’s debut is a devilish take on time and memory, that sports talent like Kevin Kline, Julia Fox, and Tim Heidecker. I can't link my review just yet but suffice to say it's my favorite of the fest so far.

Esta Isla

A descent into the heart of Puerto Rico, Lorraine Jones Molina & Cristian Carretero’s Esta Isla is a fiery, topical crime thriller. Review pending, but if you like complex romance, pain, blue water beauty, this film is for you.

Birthright

Zoe Pepper’s directorial feature is a small but mighty entry into Australian genre cinema. The bottle thriller is kind of a horror movie? Kind of not? Intimate and scary for anyone (most of us) still living with our parents. The review’s still pending but let's just say…it's a riot.

👀The Watch List

Twinless

Dylan O’Brian? Yes. Hints of Vertigo, some depravity too (or so I've been hearing)? Double yes. Hotel? Trivago.

Paradise Records

I'm interested in seeing Logic bring his multi hyphenate skills to the silver screen. Like, co-signs from Kevin Smith and Joseph Gordon Levitt are very very cool, and a riff on the formula of Empire Records is always appreciated.

The Scout

It's a film whose premise struck me from the start. Paula Andrea Gonzalez-Nasser’s The Scout looks to strike a chord in the intimate spaces of New York to probe what lies behind the eyes, the scenes, & between the walls.

🧁A Smattering of Goodies

Queens of the Dead

Tina Romero is set to recapitulate her father’s legacy with Queens of the Dead, following an eclectic group of drag artists and frenemies who band together to survive the zombie apocalypse. With Dominique Jackson, Jack Haven, Katy O’Brian starring, it's sure to be a hit.

My Mom Jayne

You know Mariska Hargitay from playing Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU, but you're probably not as aware her mother was Hollywood royalty. The actress takes us through the life of the iconic Jayne Mansfield, the highs, the lows, for a peak at the person behind the screen.

OH, HI!

Romantic getaway but make it Murphy’s Law; everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Logan Lerman and Molly Gordon are everything. Review pending.
