As they make their way to the Olympics of Cheer, the Irish Cheerleading Team (and their coaches) let themselves be known to the camera - their personal lives and their fight to get it right.

This is a fascinating slice of life, which gives you a unique look into the processes of a team that would otherwise be unknown to us - the good and the bad. There were frustrating moments where the dispassionate nature of the win overrode, in my opinion, the fun and tenderness that the sport should bring it’s participants - but this is the cost of being the best, no? Truly though - it all comes together in spectacular fashion at the end.

I reccomend this for anyone that’s tired of the underestimation and the hypersexualisation of the sport - for those who wish to take it, and the stakes of it’s competiton, seriously.

With thanks to the Irish Film Festival London Showcase for bringing this film to us!
