For our times as we currently experience them, a documentary screeening at the Irish Film Festival London was nore relevant than ever - the story of a boundary-breaking woman who, as much as she can, has lived and is living her truest progressive values.

A lawyer, a human rights activist, and the first Female President of Ireland, Mary Robinson is an international champion for the voiceless. There is much for the younger generation, namely ours, to learn from her story - how the work of building peace is slow but persisteny, unglamorous work, with no glory in it but the smiles of those you bring hope and community to.

I reccomend this for anyone sore at Kamala Harris’ Loss, or those who cannot fathom the Presidency of a Progressive Woman in office, or do not believe it to be possible, even in the most conservative of times, and against the most Conservative of candidates. Mrs Robinson’s story proves that shifting to the left, speaking for the voiceless is a viable, nay, necessary winning strategy: A stragey of  that empowers and thinks of everyone, all as equal, all as worthy of protection.

With thanks to the Irish Film Festival, London for bringing this film to us!
